Why DIY website builder?

When we say "DIY website builder", the first question that most people ask is, "Why?". Before we answer that, know that Maldicore has been hosting client's websites for over 5 years now. Most of these websites are low traffic brochure websites. The highest traffic website is a government agency website with over 3 GB of traffic per month.

Different websites uses different content management systems (CMS), among those includes WordPress, ProcessWire, MicroWeber, SilverStripe and some custom builds. All of these need regular bug/security updates and whenever a major update is applied to our servers, most of the time these websites break down and we need to fix them or rebuild. This has been creating a maintenance overhead that is both time consuming and expensive.

So our solution is to provide a multitenancy DIY website builder platform where our clients and general public can host their website. Now we only need to maintain one platform. Reducing our efforts and overheads significantly. As of this writing the platform has features like multi language setup (including dhivehi), menu builder, blogging/news updates, testimonials, sliders, gallery, team profiles with vCard for each team member, and custom pages.

One unique feature of the website is that it's optimized to support local Dhivehi language and everything is translatable to any language. That means the same website can be in different languages, for example Dhivehi and/or English. Also anytime you can upgrade your plan to add a custom domain, removing any signs of the fact that it's hosted in maldicore.website. Our current target audience is limited to Maldivians, mostly public agencies, freelancers, startups and small businesses.

One can still ask how and why are we doing it. How is mostly because we are blessed with enabling partners. Why is for people who are starting up or doing volunteer work, like NGOs or simply just surviving in meeting the recurring expenses don't have the means and expertise to maintain a website. In short, we feel the pain.

The platform as of this writing has four website templates and five vCard templates. We plan to add more beautiful templates. We have in our library over 150 templates but we would like to work with you while launching more templates. That is we build custom design / template to suit your taste and add that template to the platform.
